Conversations this week
Lazarus: mommy, can I give you a kiss?
Me: sure!
Lazarus grabs my cheeks and gives me a sweet little kiss. Then says, "thanks for the kiss," walks down the stairs, and then thanks me again.
Lazarus: mommy, can I call you mom?
Me: sure.
Lazarus. Okay Mom. I'm just going to call you Mommy.
Lazarus: Evy, when is Easter?
Evalana: Three days after the crucifixion. Do you know what crucifixion means?
Lazarus: It means on fire?
Evalana: No, Lazzy, it's when the Roman soldiers killed someone. So Jesus rose from the grave three days after he was killed on the cross.
Lazarus: Oh, I see. Thanks Evy. I didn't know that.
Me: sure!

I've tried posting from my phone a couple other times recently and it didn't work, but we'll see how this goes.

Lazarus's hives, fever, and headache
For a family that's usually pretty healthy, we've been making lots of trips to the doctor recently. Good news is that i love our new doctor. i'm very happy that we decided to switch. Two weeks ago Evalana got croup, but we didn't go to the doctor for that, and now she's better, although Ezekiel and i got a cough this week. Lazarus got hives two weeks ago and a fever and headache one week ago. Since he was still having hives, fever, and headache, we went back to the doctor again today. Dr. Greenwood was concerned that he's not better yet and wonders if he might be having an autoimmune reaction. So he decided to start him on antibiotics to make sure there's no bacterial infection before he gives him a steroid shot next week. And we drew blood today and should have the results back on some of that tomorrow. The patient before us needed some extra attention, and, because dr. greenwood takes his time with everyone, we had to wait almost an hour. The nurse really wanted to get lazarus's height and weight, which made lazarus upset. finally they let me hold him and took our weight together. then the entire time we were waiting, lazarus was crying that he wanted to go home. Thankfully Ezekiel was just napping on me. Then, when Dr. Greenwood started looking at Lazarus, Lazarus got more upset, which woke up Ezekiel. Then to draw blood, and Lazarus was crying. I handed Ezekiel over to a nurse, which made him cry. Evalana tried her best to talk with Ezekiel, which i think really helped her not to get upset. I felt bad holding down poor Lazarus, but he did great. He was crying, but i think he was so tired, he didn't try to struggle at all. So then i carried my two screaming boys out of there. i'm so glad evalana was able to walk beside me. Lazarus fell asleep as soon as i buckled him in, and Ezekiel cried the whole way home. I think i'll get joshua's help when we go back. we're praying Lazarus feels better soon.
