Evalana just called Grandma Mo to tell her happy second anniversary. She said she remembered being a flower girl with Alora, but she asked, "Was Lazarus a flower boy?"
Mo: He was in Mommy's belly.
Evalana: Oh. Well if Grandpa Greg dies before you, you can get a new husband, and maybe then Lazarus can be in the wedding too.
Mo: I'd kind of like to keep Grandpa Greg around.
Evalana: Okay, but if he dies before you, I'm sure you can find a new husband because there are lots of boys in the country.

E: Are you six?
A: No, I'm five.
Grandma: Tell her when you'll be six.
A: I'll be six after I'm five.
E: But what season will you be six?
A: Hey, do you know when my birthday is? October 27th!

June 14th Joshua had a Fishnet party for their move to Kansas, and he brought home a couple of their decorations--betta fish. the kids were very excited and have been doing a great job of taking care of them. Lazarus named his Wish, and Evalana named hers something like Dog Fish Aka. I think the first thing Joshua told the kids about the fish is that they don't live long, so Evalana was surprised that they were both still alive the next morning :-)

June 9th we got to celebrate Haley's second birthday party with friends.

pool

This summer we got pool passes, and we've really used them. Both kids have loved the pool time; they get so excited every afternoon i suggest we go to the pool. We usually go late afternoon/early evening and have such a good time playing outside and staying cool. Lazarus is pretty adventurous, so i don't get a chance to take many pictures. Here are pictures from one of our first visits in June.

May 24th we got to have one last Deanna Rose playdate and pictures with our friends before the nelsons moved.

Our friends moved to Jefferson City while we were in Colorado over Memorial Day. Before we left on our trip, the kids got to play together while Heather packed for their move. We'd love to get able to get together lots more still.

In May, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Sarah Beth came back to KC for a visit, and we got an afternoon together. We miss our friends!

And evalana insisted on making a heart and wrapping it in gift paper before she went to bed that night, but it disappeared before i got a picture of it.
I'm so so so thankful to be a mama in this sweet family.

lots of life

so much to blog about. maybe i'll catch up before i die. probably not. but i'll keep working on it. highlights right now are that we're beginning to look at buying land and eventually moving to a more rural area south of us. we're all very very excited about this idea. last night our beef was delivered. joshua talked a bit to the farmer about land, and she said now, with the current drought, was one of the best times to buy land, so the motivated dreamer farmer (joshua) is even more motivated and excited. we'll keep praying about all of it, and it'll be great to see what happens when. The other biggest news in our house this week is that lazarus started his school time. he's four months younger than evalana was when she started her two year old pre-K, but all of us area loving it so far. i'll have more to post about that once i get to the pictures and stuff too. oh, and last weekend we had a KC Cousins Camp. Bailey (11yo), Chloe (7yo), and Meema all came, and we totally filled up our schedule with KC activities and had such a good time together. it's such a blessing to be able to spend time with Bailey and Chloe. And last Saturday evalana had her birthday party. She chose a Prairie Pioneer theme, and we all had a great time!
Well, while lazarus is napping and evalana's listening to an audiobook, i'm going to see if i can get any more posts in this afternoon. And the weather is beautiful today! Sunny, breezy, and high of 83.
oh my, i just realized i have to go back to the middle of May to catch up.
