At the beginning of December, Evalana started using the word "no." Thankfully she still doesn't use it in a tantruming screaming sort of way.

The weekend between Joshua's birthday and Christmas, Joshua's parents, sister, and nephew were all able to come to Kansas City for the weekend. We had a great time. Evalana loves hanging out with her cousin Noah! We got to go to Union Station to see the trains, and then we walked around Crown Center and saw my friend, Dino O'Dell.

sinus infection

Evalana's been sick with a cold this week, but last night was a lot worse, so we decided to go to the College Park Urgent Care this morning. We were only there for about 15 minutes, which I was thankful for. The doctor and nurse were really nice, and the doctor let us know that she had a sinus infection. So Evalana is once again on antibiotics. Hopefully she'll be feeling better quickly. Noah and Gigi were also sick earlier this week, so hopefully everyone will be feeling better very soon.

at the beginning of december, we got to go visit James. i didn't get any good pictures, but evalana was trying to sit on james' lap, and they were hugging each other. Evalana had a great time playing with James, and i had a good time with Jennifer.

i remember how amazed i was the first moment i saw her sweet face when she was born. here are some random photos we took when she was wanting to see herself in the back of the camera.

lunch conversation

Evalana is so entertaining. This video is from a few weeks ago. While Joshua's at work, Evalana frequently has to check up on him. So about every half hour or so, we have this conversation:

E: "Dada?"

me: "at work."

E: "bye bye." (meaning he went bye bye to work rather than working from home).

We also have this conversation throughout the day:

I ask, "Why?"

(when i got out of the shower one evening, i found daddy and evalana sitting at the table coloring. they had been at it for about 20 minutes, until she saw me).

a very merry morning

westside's preschool team is awesome. at the beginning of december they had "A Very Merry Morning" for preschoolers to experience the Christmas story. Evalana loved it.

Evalana does a great job of saying "thank you" in sign language whenever it's appropriate, even to her doggies.

mowing help

Evalana loves her time with Daddy, especially on the weekends. Here's a little video of her helping with yard work at the end of November. She likes to be involved in whatever we're doing.

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we were able to go to Joplin Monday night to Thursday night. It was so great to be able to hang out with family. Evalana got lots of time to play with Grandma Kidd and really likes her time with her cousin Noah. She got to meet her Aunt Nova and loved hugging on the six doggies who were at Thanksgiving, especially Sophia the little pomeranian. Evalana had so much fun that she hardly slept while we were there.

We got to listen to a great Thanksgiving CD.

Evalana had a cold that started on the 23rd. She seems to be feeling much better now. I think that's just part of winter.

We have so much we get to thank God for, especially for our wonderful family.

I tried hard to get good pictures of Evalana in her pretty dress at the wedding, but this is the best we got.

omaha zoo

My cousin Amanda was getting married in Omaha, so we decided to make a visit to the zoo before the wedding. We didn't have nearly enough time there to see it all, but we were so impressed. The zoo was amazing--the way they made you feel like you were actually there in the desert or swamp or cave or wherever. Also, a lot of it was inside, which was nice since it was so cold out. We highly recommend going if you get a chance.

We were able to visit Great Grandpa Moser in Lincoln. Evalana loved Grandpa's kitty, Tiger, and playing with a ball with Grandpa.

snow bubbles

Evalana looked out the window at the snow-covered ground this morning and said, "Bubba bubba bubba!" I was trying to figure out what she thought was bubbles, and Joshua right away knew she thought the world was covered in soap sud bubbles. By bedtime she was calling it "noow."

When we were packing up the car to head to Nebraska, Evalana found the container of cookies.
